Michael Schönell has been responsible for Technical Purchasing at BYTEC since April 2025. His goal is to develop purchasing into a strategic pillar of the company's development, thereby creating direct added value for customers. Medical technology faces a wide range of challenges, from regulatory requirements and technological innovations to complex supply chains. Michael meets these challenges with experience, vision, and a desire to shape the future, acting as a bridge builder between digitalization, efficiency, and collaboration.
With over 25 years of professional experience, including 19 years in management, he has the expertise needed to develop purchasing from a pure procurement process into a real value driver along the supply chain. He relies on clear structures, data-based decisions, and a management culture that empowers people – thus creating sustainable added value for BYTEC and its customers.

Michael lives with his family in Aachen, is married, and has three daughters. In addition to his professional duties, he is vice commander of the Prinzengarde Brander Stiere 1928 e. V.. For him, this honorary position is more than just a tradition – it stands for living customs, joie de vivre, and genuine community. These are values that shape him both privately and professionally – and which always mean bringing tradition and modernity into harmony for him.
