BYTEC History
Starting in the 2026 training year, BYTEC will offer training in two professions
Since March 20, 2025, André Coenen, the eldest son of Paul W. Coenen, has taken over as co-managing director in addition to his role as Director Development.
2024 Founding of our subsidiary bytec LM GmbH
Legal manufacturer for medical devices – specializing in development, regulatory affairs, and market observation
Expansion of company premises
In 2020, we are expanding our company building with an additional 1,200 square meters of production and storage space and 400 square meters of additional office space.
Moving from Stolberg to Eschweiler
2011 we are moving into the building constructed for us in Hermann-Hollerith-Str. 11 in Eschweiler.

We are growing
1994
Eye surgery alone is no longer enough for us, so we are expanding our focus to include heart surgery.
In addition, we are setting up a new department with this service, thereby creating new opportunities for our customers.
1995
In order to be able to manufacture the devices we have developed, we expand our production, warehousing, and purchasing operations.
In the same year, we produce our first heart support and eye surgery devices here as contract work.
Foundation BYTEC 1992
In order to establish itself in other areas of medical technology, the development team leaves Fritz Ruck Ophthalmologische Systeme and founds BYTEC Hard- und Software Entwicklung GmbH.
The name BYTEC is made up of the words bytes and technology.
We start with a focus on the development of eye surgery devices.
In the first few months, we are concentrating on setting up our quality assurance department and certification in addition to our first orders.
