Contrast medium pump for magnetic resonance tomography

The EmpowerMR by BYTEC is the new development of a contrast medium pump for magnetic resonance tomography which, contrary to previous pumps, is not operated electrically but rather hydraulically. The background for this concept is that magnetic resonance tomographs generate high-intensity magnetic fields and therefore require components made of antimagnetic material in their immediate vicinity.

The EmpowerMR consists of the following three main components:

• injector head
• hydraulic control device, and
• control and input unit

Within 24 months, BYTEC had developed the device, achieved CE and FDA certification and begun production.
